🔗 Share this article Former Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients. The Grave Allegations Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” The Investigation These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital. Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January. Breakdown of Charges The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with: 15 counts of assault. 17 counts of assault by penetration. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
