US actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.

"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a announcement.

They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive Television Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.

Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
